2M Passwords For Facebook, Twitter And Others Stolen In Massive Data Breach


Have a Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Yahoo account? If so, you might want to change your password, stat. According to cybersecurity firm Trustwave, hackers using a nasty piece of work called the Pony Botnet Controller have stolen usernames and passwords for nearly two million accounts. The firm determined that a malicious keylogger installed on users’ computers was to blame. Researchers at Trustwave said this massive data breach has been going on for a month, but they only discovered and publicized their findings Tuesday, CNN reports. Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter told CNN that they've notified affected users and reset their passwords; Google declined to comment, and Yahoo didn't provide a response to CNN.

Egyptian General Trumps Miley to Win 'Time' Person of the Year Poll


Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Egyptian general who played a key role in ousting former President Mohamed Morsi, has won the reader poll for Time's Person of the Year. To claim the title, he beat out Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, viral star Miley Cyrus, and NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Time closed the poll at midnight on Wednesday, and Gen. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, often referred to as simply General Sisi, came out on top with 26.2% of the vote, for a total of 449,596 votes. Nelson Mandela, South African Anti-Apartheid Hero, Dies


Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa and the anti-apartheid hero, has died at the age of 95. South Africa President Jacob Zuma confirmed Mandela's death on Thursday. In a televised address, Zuma said, "Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father." Mandela died at 8:50 p.m. local time Mandela passed away after almost a month of being in intensive care. He was admitted into a Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa, on June 8 with a recurring lung infection, an illness that traces back to his years in prison. During the rule of the white racist government and apartheid, Mandela spent 27 years behind bars, before being freed in 1990 and becoming South Africa's first black president in 1994

Nelson Mandela passed away Thursday at the age of 95. President Obama made a statement from the White House shortly after South African President Zuma confirmed Mandela's death.
